UR-111C: Baby Cobra

With the UR-111C, URWERK once again bent the rules of traditional watchmaking — this time by eliminating the dial altogether. Introduced in 2018, the UR-111C delivered time through a unique linear display at the front of the timepiece, viewed through curved sapphire crystal windows like cockpit instrumentation on a sci-fi vessel.
A jumping digital hour, a linear retrograde minute track, digital minutes and a rotating digital seconds display with optical fiber magnification. This unique time display gives the UR-111C a hyper-mechanical, almost cybernetic presence. Winding and setting were equally unorthodox: a roller integrated into the top of the case replaced the crown, reinforcing the sense of tactile control.
Initally offered in polished steel, GunMetal, and full black editions, followed by the final Two-Tone edition the UR-111C was a masterclass in kinetic design proof that even after two decades, URWERK could still surprise. A limited production run ensured its status as a futuristic outlier — a machine for the wrist that challenged the very notion of what a watch could be.
