UR-103: The Saviour

In the early 2000s, URWERK founders Felix Baumgartner and Martin Frei faced a pivotal moment—risk everything to launch an innovative watch or close their company. They chose innovation, unveiling the UR-103 at Baselworld 2003. With its futuristic design, wing-like shape, and groundbreaking wandering-hour display featuring four orbiting satellites, the UR-103 was both controversial and captivating, ultimately securing URWERK’s future.

Produced until 2010, the UR-103 evolved significantly, introducing new materials and increasingly open, dramatic displays. The model's unique blend of artistry and engineering attracted notable admirers, including Michael Jordan and Ralph Lauren, and established URWERK as a pioneering force in independent watchmaking. Today, the UR-103 remains highly collectible, yet undervalued by new collectors who don't fully appreciste its impotance to the world of Horology and independant watchmaking.
