Heavier. Darker. Stronger.

The UR-110 has always pushed the boundaries of watchmaking design, but in this rare TTH edition—short for Tantalum Hull—it takes on an entirely new character. Inspired by the armoured shell of a Klingon Bird of Prey, this model is fortified with one of the most resilient metals on Earth.

Tantalum is rarely used in watchmaking. It’s dense, incredibly tough to machine, and has a distinct bluish-grey tone with a hint of violet. For URWERK, these were reasons to embrace it. The result: a deeper, more commanding version of the UR-110. The bezel has been thickened to 4.10mm, nearly double that of earlier models, while even the sapphire crystal has been upgraded. Six visible screws secure the bezel to a titanium base, giving the watch a presence that is instantly apparent.

A Satellite Display Like No Other

Time is displayed through URWERK’s award-winning satellite complication. Three-hour satellites orbit the dial on a vertical trajectory, tracking minutes as they descend along a 60-minute scale on the right-hand side. Each satellite stays aligned thanks to a planetary gear system that keeps them in perfect formation.

No ordinary flat  time display—it’s a mechanical performance across three layers:

  • A central carousel provides balance and structural support

  • Planetary gearing controls the motion of the satellites

  • Each module counter-rotates to offset the carousel’s movement, ensuring continuous, fluid timekeeping

The Control Board on the dial includes a day/night indicator, running seconds, and URWERK’s signature oil-change alert system, a service indicator for long-term reliability.

Flip the watch over to reveal the twin turbines that manage the winding rotor, regulating the movement to avoid excess wear from over-winding.

A Collector’s Find

Released in 2012 and long discontinued, the UR-110 series remains one of URWERK’s most celebrated lines, with the TTH model considered among its most coveted. Winner of the 2011 GPHG Design Watch Prize, the UR-110 helped redefine how time could be experienced.

This particular example, one of fifty-five created, is offered in our UR-LEGENDS collection in like-new condition.

  • Original URWERK presentation box

  • Brand new Baltimora leather and textile strap

  • Three-year international URWERK Warranty

Felix Baumgartner, co-founder and master watchmaker of URWERK: “Tantalum comes from the myth of Tantalus, a figure associated with eternal temptation. That name fits. We were drawn to the material’s character—its strength, its colour, and its resistance. It felt right for the UR-110’s final evolution.”

Martin Frei, co-founder and chief designer of URWERK: “We’re always curious to see how new materials transform our work. Tantalum gave the UR-110 a darker, heavier aesthetic we hadn’t seen before. It changed the visual language of the watch. I called it the Tantalum Hull—like the armoured skin of a spacecraft.”
