Overview
Some watches become classics the moment they appear. The URWERK UR-103T Tarantula is one of them.
Crafted in 18k white gold, the UR-103T reveals its mechanical architecture through a large domed sapphire crystal that exposes the satellite hour system beneath. The open design transforms the display into a kinetic sculpture, allowing the four orbiting satellites to move across the dial in full view.
When introduced, the UR-103T pushed URWERK’s design language further than ever before. Today the watch remains just as futuristic and compelling as when it first appeared, a piece of mechanical design that continues to define the early era of the brand.
The white gold case adds a refined presence that moves effortlessly between casual and formal settings, equally at home with relaxed clothing or formal attire.
Case and Design
The UR-103T, known as the Tarantula, features one of the most visually distinctive interpretations of URWERK’s satellite time display.
Its fully open dial construction exposes the satellite carousel beneath the sapphire crystal. The structure supporting the satellites resembles the form of a spider, giving the watch its Tarantula nickname.
Large domed sapphire allows an unobstructed view of the revolving mechanism while reinforcing the architectural nature of the design.
Satellite Time Display
Time is displayed through URWERK’s signature revolving satellite hour system.
Four hour satellites rotate across the dial, each carrying the hour numerals. As the carousel moves, the active satellite travels along the minute track to indicate the time. The open Tarantula structure partially covers the inactive hour discs while revealing the active hour as it moves through the minute arc.
The result is a display that feels both mechanical and organic, constantly shifting as the satellites orbit across the dial.
Movement
Inside the UR-103T beats the URWERK calibre 3.04, a manually wound movement developed for the UR-103 family.
The movement provides a 36 hour power reserve and drives the complex satellite display through a sophisticated carousel mechanism.
Like all early URWERK pieces, the movement architecture reflects the brand’s experimental spirit and focus on alternative ways of displaying time.
The Control Board
Turning the watch over reveals one of the defining elements of the UR-103 series.
The URWERK Control Board presents several functional displays designed for precise monitoring and adjustment of the movement.
The case back includes:
• power reserve indicator
• running seconds
• 15 minute counter for precise time setting
• user adjustable fine tuning screw
This system allows the wearer to monitor the performance of the watch and make small regulation adjustments when required.

Delivery Options
Watches will be shipped using the best courier service based on your location. Please note, deliveries are not made on Bank Holidays or Sundays. Please allow additional time, if ordering on or near public holidays or weekends. Delivery will commence once payment is secured depending on payment type.

Insurance
