Overview
The URWERK UR-103T Mexican Fireleg marks one of the final expressions of the UR-103 collection. Produced in a limited series of 60 pieces, it stands as a closing chapter for one of URWERK’s most important references.
Named after the Mexican Fireleg tarantula, this version introduces a darker and more concentrated aesthetic, defined by contrast rather than reflection.
Case and Material
The case is constructed in steel and titanium, treated with Aluminium Titanium Nitride (AlTiN).
This coating provides:
• High resistance to wear and oxidation
• Increased surface hardness
• A uniform matte black finish
Against this darker surface, the orange luminous elements appear more pronounced, creating a strong visual contrast across the dial.
Tarantula Architecture
The “T” designation refers to the Tarantula configuration, where the case is opened to reveal the satellite system beneath.
A large sapphire crystal exposes the mechanism, allowing a direct view of the four orbiting satellites. The structure introduces a more skeletal and technical interpretation of the UR-103.
The form remains compact, while the display becomes more immediate.
Satellite Time Display
Time is displayed through URWERK’s signature wandering satellite complication.
Four satellites, each carrying three hour numerals, rotate across a 120 degree minute track. As each satellite moves from east to west, it indicates the time before continuing its orbit.
The display combines analogue and digital reading, maintaining clarity while remaining in constant motion.
Mechanical Core
At its centre is the manual wind calibre 3.04, a movement developed to support the satellite system.
The construction prioritises stability and precision, with the carousel and satellites operating within tight tolerances to ensure consistent performance.
Control Board
Turning the watch over reveals the URWERK control board, a defining feature of the UR-103.
It provides:
• 36 hour power reserve indicator
• 15 minute and seconds display for precise setting
• Fine tuning screw for rate adjustment
This interface allows direct interaction with the movement.
Position in the Collection
As one of the final UR-103 references, the Mexican Fireleg represents a shift toward darker materials and more open constructions.
Its limited production and distinctive colour palette have made it increasingly difficult to source.

Insurance
